To me, they feel like a cat scratch over and over again. It hurts but is not unbearable. Afterwards it feels like a bad sunburn, and heals like one too. If you just keep telling yourself, "It will be over in a minute" then it goes by even quicker. Hope this helped!

The one on the right. I like the wings on it, it looks bold but not like your covering anything, Just make sure that the new tattoo fits you, don't just pick it because you don't like the old one.

I like the quote I wouldn't do the Japanese letters unless your artist knows Japanese because you can't fully trust online translates and meaning can vary from region to region but it would look nice in a script wrapping around your hip with blue highlighting good luck :D

the general rule of thumb is that any tattoo being covered up must be covered with another tattoo that is at least 2/3 larger than the first piece and must have significant detail. The idea is not really to cover up, but to break up the original design so that the eye does not recognize it as being another tattoo under the new one. Black tattoo pigment is BLACK, nothing can change that, except laser removal that leaves more scars and is more painful and MUCH more expensive. Try coloring a page with black sharpy marker and then get a red sharpy and color over it, you'll get about the same effect as if you try to color over black tattoo work.

To <3, the first person who answered:

Alot of times you need to cover your tattoos temporarily like for a wedding, photo shoot etc. Also, if you are on TV alot, like Kat, sometimes they just need to cover one specific tat (like something obscene or a brand etc)

There is nothing "ironic" about that.

I had a rather large tribal sun between my shoulders. I now have a full back piece that my artist was able to cover and incorporate into a japanese maple tree that was part of my tattoo. I did not think I would be able to ever cover it since it was so deep and dark. I went to the artist first and he took a look at it and was sure he was able to cover it. It was funny cause during the outline phase everyone kept commenting that the sun was so cool. I can only tell what used to be there. Go to an artist and discuss how you can cover it. Good luck!

Well to get a coverup, the new tattoo has to be much larger than the old one....so hopefully the butterfly isn't too big and it can be tattooed over. Anyway, a scorpion would be awesome imo.

Laser removal is really the only thing that works. But even that isn't 100%. Tattoo removal very seldom completely removes the tattoo, especially if it's colorful. It works the best on black ink. Even if it DOES get rid of the ink, it still leaves a scar.

It sounds like you don't know what to get for a cover-up. My recommendation is not to get ANYTHING until you know exactly what you want.

Because, after all, isn't a lack of fore-thought what got you into this situation in the first place?

If you rush into it, you'll just make your problem bigger and worse.

If you're going to get it covered up, choose wisely.

NecroDjinn - And yet I still have twice the Best Answer rating you do! :D
