It hurts but is not unbearable. Afterwards it feels like a bad sunburn, and heals like one too. If you just keep telling yourself, "It will be over in a minute" then it goes by even quicker. Black tattoo pigment is BLACK, nothing can change that, except laser removal that leaves more scars and is more painful and MUCH more expensive.
