You should try to let the tattoo dry and scab a bit don't continuisly slap cream on but do put a thin layer of vaseline when you feel its to dry or bepanthem (baby butt cream) If you are getting in the bath don't soak the tattoo just try and have a quick shower and just pat the tattoo dry. You can clean a tattoo with mild soap and water. If the tattoo is going to be in the sun it is advised you were a high factor sun cream and is advised you don't go on sunbeds. A tattoo tends to heal betwwen 1-3 weeks.
Infection. your tattoo will be red around the area but if it tends to get darker and hot this could be a sign of infection also heavy scabbing is a sign of infection if this occurs go back to the tattoist for advice or go to the doctors.

Try going to a different WH Smiths or Waterstones. You could also try your local corner shops too, they might have them.

all of my tattoos have healed really well. I haven't had to do any touch ups.

I use aquaphor for the first 48 hours and washing the tattoos several times a day. After that I switch to lubriderm or any other unscented lotions. I use that 3-5 times a day for a few weeks. Until the itching stops and it loses that crinkly look. Red normally takes about a week longer to heal. If you go out in the sun use sunscreen and reapply frequently.
